The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers into the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering services including new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency explained it is alarmed concerning the significant number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some higher quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no totally functional office devoted to service the area daily. The support stage established for intervention activities a high inflow of possible beneficiaries, that makes sassa it difficult for the Workplace to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra sources to help the servicing of all buyers and boost usage of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
